Jafaris will feature at ‘The Beatyard Presents’ Series at The Bernard Shaw this Autumn. Here, Beatyard will be taking on a future sounds approach with artists such as Primary Colours, Tebi Rex, Local Boy, Brien, Bobofunk, Shiv, Gaptoof & more.

Dublin based, hip-hop artist Jafaris received critical praise for his debut album STRIDE – nominated for RTE Choice Music Award – Album of The Year 2019, which also earned him his place as one of Ireland’s foremost players of the new generation of the Irish hip-hop. Jafaris musical calling came a little later than most. Before the dazzling lyricism and poetic resonance, he brought to the emerging Irish music scene, dance had always been his passion and career path. It was through a dance audition that the multi-talented musician landed the role of Ngig in the 2016 Irish film sensation ‘Sing Street’ directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker John Carney.

NewDad will feature at ‘The Beatyard Presents’ Series at Pot Duggans this Autumn. Here we will be presenting a lineup curated by ourselves here at Bodytonic.

Newdad, the hyped Irish alternative rock band, self-released their first three tracks, ”How”, “Swimming” and “Cry” during the lockdown in March and haven’t looked back. The Galway based quartet have quickly become one of the most talked about bands of 2020 with their potent combination of forward thinking pop vocals and woozy, nostalgic guitars that have drawn comparisons to Billie Eilish as much as The Cure and The Pixies. In September they released “Blue” their brilliant new single which propelled them into the public consciousness after landing on the A list at BBC 6Music and receiving support from BBC1’s Jack Saunders and Phil Taggert. With a rapidly growing fanbase and talk of a debut EP on London based label Fair Youth, Newdad look set for a breakout 2021.

Sunil Sharpe will feature at ‘The Beatyard Presents’ Series at Wigwam this Autumn. Here we will be presenting a lineup curated by ourselves here at Bodytonic.

Sunil Sharpe is one of Europe’s most renowned and well-loved techno DJs. Gaining an enviable reputation for his DJing in the early ’00s, he was soon invited to play at Berlin’s Tresor Club, marking the start of an intensive involvement in the techno scene. Sunil has played extensively around Europe at the likes of Berghain, Fabric, Concrete, Sub Club, Glastonbury Festival and much more. He was also DJ of choice on the first two Karenn European tours, the last of which was marked by his now classic Boiler Room set in London.

Known primarily for his fast-moving, skillful style on the decks, Sunil’s reputation as a producer of raw, individualistic techno, has grown in tandem with his reputation as a DJ. To date he has appeared on labels such as Works The Long Nights (aka Sheworks), Black Sun Records, Rave Or Die, Trensmat, Mord, Inner Surface Music, Violet Poison and many more. Sunil also recently setup On The Hoof, a label dedicated specifically to his own productions and collaborations with friends.

Sunil makes up one half of Tinfoil alongside fellow Dublin-based producer DeFeKT. Initially forged as a studio partnership in 2014 (and more recently as a live show), the pair have since racked up an impressive catalogue of 12″s on their own self-titled label. Additionally, Sunil runs the wonderfully erratic Earwiggle imprint that has built a dedicated following, releasing new names and old heroes into the battlefield.

Sunil’s application to techno and the scene in general, pushes far beyond the standard DJ/producer mould. Enjoying a long stint in pirate radio from his early days of active DJing, Sunil joined national station RTÉ 2fm in 2007, where he has since offered up a monthly mix of new music. The show has also been characterized by in-depth interviews with the likes of Jeff Mills, Surgeon, Blawan and many others.

Sunil has also devised a new format for playing/reviewing new music in “The Quarterly Crate”. Now in its third year, the hugely informative video series supplies a special insight into his most recent vinyl acquisitions.

Susan O’Neill will feature at ‘The Beatyard Presents’ Series at Pot Duggans this Autumn. Here we will be presenting a lineup curated by ourselves here at Bodytonic.

A critically acclaimed performer, Susan O’Neill is one of Ireland’s brightest emerging talents.  Her independently released debut album ‘Found Myself Lost’ was nominated for ‘Album of the Year’ by Hot Press in 2017. As her artistry grew, the singer and multi-instrumentalist coupled her solo performances with extensive touring, lending her talents to Irish dance band King Kong Company, as well as the queen of traditional music Sharon Shannon. Having wowed audiences on iconic international festival stages in her solo endeavours (Electric Picnic, Port Fairy Folk Festival, Edmonton Folk Music Festival), Susan has now spent the last while further honing her own craft.

Nurturing her musical skills as one of the youngest members of the Ennis Brass Band and gaining her first gospel influences with the ‘Really Truly Joyful Gospel Choir’, Susan has always been intertwined with the art and music of the region, gaining a huge appreciation and love for its many avenues. She has recently made her directorial role debut, making a cross-spectrum arts documentary in historic Bunratty Castle, Co. Clare.

In 2020, Susan was nominated for ‘Irish Female Artist of the Year’ (Hot Press) as well as highlighted as best live performance in 2020 for her debut on Other Voices ‘Courage’ series by the Irish Examiner in their end of year lists. An enigmatic singer-songwriter, the year was capped off by receiving the RTÉ Radio 1 ‘Song of the Year’ award for her collaboration with multi-platinum artist Mick Flannery on their song ‘Baby Talk’.

Susan was invited again by Other Voices in May 2021 to perform as part of a special co-curation with the US Embassy in Dublin. Hosted at the US Ambassador’s residence, Susan took part in this noteworthy celebration of Bob Dylan for his 80th birthday. Susan performed alongside Paul Brady, Lisa Hannigan and Mick Flannery to name but a few iconic and beloved Irish artists.

Susan is a songwriter of hidden depths, a singer with a voice that is equal parts balm and blowtorch. She is audacity personified, a free spirit. A real performer.

Susan O’Neill and Mick Flannery continue to collaborate, currently working on a full album titled ‘In The Game’ due for release in late 2021.
